White Noise and Urban Mindfulness

White Noise provides ambient sounds of the environment to help people feel relaxed. This type of noise can also induce people to sleep, especially those who travel a lot and have erratic work timings. There are many people who find themselves waking up in the middle of the night and trying their best to get sleep, perhaps either by reading a book or having an additional drink although nothing helps that time. Hence, the solution is “White Noise”, which can include noises such as waves crashing on a beach, crickets chirping at night, soothing sound of the rain or even sound of a train on the railroad next to an apartment and so on.

When we talk of Urban Mindfulness, it is all about the people living in Urban habitat and adapting contemporary meditation practices. One of those mindfulness practices can be done by using white noise. The steps are following:


1. Play the music and sit quietly, on a comfortable chair
2.    Close your eyes and imagine that you are in a Business Class seat on an aircraft and the flight steward is about to serve you a glass of champagne and some delectable cuisine
3.    Imagine the movement of the aircraft and relax. It may so happen that you would imagine that you are indeed sitting in a plane
4.    Use headphones and distract any other external noise, if possible
5.    Start taking deeper breaths and let your body relax. Remember, you are in Business Class!
6.    Slowly open your eyes and feel relaxed
7.    Duration: Minimum 10 Minutes
