Cinema Therapy: A new paradigm for Positive Psychotherapists

The above clipping is from my favorite movie in Hindi called, "Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara" or "You will not get this life twice". Whenever I need to refurbish my self-esteem and feel good about my choices, I watch this movie. The DVD at home helps and I must have seen this movie thousands of time. Similarly, other of my favorites include not much of intellectual stuff, but movies like "Pursuit of Happyness" and "Notting Hill". Happy endings do create a positive element. Movies can also act as tools for Positive Psychology practitioners in coaching their clients. Positive Psychotherapists are using cinema therapy with adolescents as well as adults effectively in the United States and other Countries.

As an experiment, watch three movies of your choice, which has some element of positive ending during a week and write down three good things you found in all the movies. The effect will surely make you feel good about yourself.
