"Work-life Balance" as a concept has emerged from the west. In eastern traditions like India, everything is part of life, including work, hence do we rename the concept as "Harmonizing life"?, which means we view life in an holistic perspective and undertake measures to improve our present state, be it work, which is part of life or spending time with family. With this concept, organisations can also be sensitized about how they can help their employees achieve happiness through their work. Newer best practices should be evolved. Rather than "work life balance" being a boardroom talk with a high flying consultant, harmony in life is what should be achieved through various measures.
